2024 Flatfile Year in Review

2024 was the year that thousands of businesses took control of their data workflows with Flatfile. We saw millions of hours saved, with data onboarding and migration projects that typically took weeks or months reduced to minutes.

• Users resolved over 2 million errors directly within Flatfile

• AI Transform was used 20,000+ times to transform data using natural language

AI Transform: The Power of Natural Language Data Commands

AI Transform has made it easier than ever to handle complex data manipulations, with commands in natural language. Here are some of the prompts that Flatfile customers used to work more efficiently in 2024:

• “‘Convert all dates to DD-MM-YYYY”

• “Change x to true and blank to false in @subscription_status”

• “Divide @home_price by @square_footage and populate @price_per_square_foot”

• “Remove dashes from @routing_number”

• “If @start_date is 2020 or later, set @employer_contribution to 5%”

Custom Actions: How Teams Streamlined Their Workflows

Custom actions allowed businesses using Flatfile to perform specific repeatable tasks within their data set with the click of a button. Here are a few of the custom actions our customers built in 2024:

• Dedupe records

• Merge records

• Hide extra columns that are not empty or not marked as required and that don't have errors

• Create a master sheet from data imported into multiple sheets

• Take data from one sheet with thousands of fields and split into multiple sheets for editing and exporting

Major Product Innovations

In 2024, our Product team launched a number of features that make Flatfile even more intuitive and powerful. Here are a few of our favorites:

AI Transform allows you to use natural language prompts to transform your data. Flatfile turns these commands into code and makes the desired changes instantly across your entire data set. Learn more about AI Transform.

Advanced Mapping enables you to manipulate your data as part of the mapping process, merging multiple source fields into a single destination field, splitting a single source field into multiple destination fields, and more. New Groups make organizing and refining your mapping tasks easier, and Data Preview allows you to view up to 1,000 records at a time for instant feedback. Learn more about Advanced Mapping.

Build Mode is a no-code, AI-assisted solution for configuring and customizing Flatfile. In Build Mode, you can upload a file describing your system's requirements to generate your ideal configuration, use natural language to create validation rules for your data, and generate sample data with valid and invalid records (no dummy files needed).

Collaboration features like Comments, Mentions, and Reactions enable teams to work more efficiently together, without leaving Flatfile.
