In 2020, the U.S residential cleaning business was nearly $900 million, growing at an expected 2% per year. Despite ongoing growth, the industry remains largely a subscription business, subject to churn. Cleanetto has developed an all-in-one software product that provides cleaning companies with the necessary tools to keep recurring clients for longer periods of time.
“Our software helps cleaning companies create stronger connections that ultimately results in less churn,” said Miguel Zabludovsky, Founder and CEO of Cleanetto. “The average city has over 300 cleaning companies. We help our clients differentiate themselves from the other 299.”
Cleanetto software allows its global customers to set up and monitor bookings, cleaning personnel assignments, scheduling status, and payroll, and enables them to communicate this information both internally and externally as needed. In order for the software to provide this level of detail, data needs to be imported from multiple sources. Cleanetto partnered with Flatfile to meet this data import challenge.
“We’re importing primarily three types of data,” said Zabludovsky. “Clients, cleaners, and bookings. And we do that right from the imports tab where we integrated Flatfile. That makes the entire process very easy to carry out.”
Cleanetto must import data every time they land a new customer. Migrating the names of clients and cleaners as well as booking information from other software tools into the Cleanetto platform was an extremely difficult and cumbersome process prior to Flatfile.
“Clients would have to figure out how to get their data into our system,” said Zabludovsky. “This would take a great deal of time and effort on their part since many of them don’t have technical staff available.”
The types of data errors Cleanetto typically saw included inaccurate email addresses, a major problem since contacting residential clients and cleaners is mission critical for Cleanetto’s customers. Other issues as a result of manually importing data included incomplete or inaccurate physical addresses, and mismatched services and rate.
Implementing Flatfile’s data onboarding platform streamlined the process for customers to upload their data saving critical time and resources. Zabludovsky estimates the use of Flatfile has saved customers hours and sometimes days getting their data imported into the Cleanetto application.
“We integrated Flatfile right into our migration and onboarding process and we always highlight to customers how easy the self-serve import tool is to help them move over their data,” said Zabludovsky. “Whatever system clients are in now, whether it's Excel, Google Calendar, Launch27, Zenmaid, Jobber, whatever it is, customers can bring over their data in minutes.”
The flexibility of the Flatfile solution has been particularly important to Cleanetto as their business – and their data importing needs – continue to expand.
“As we grow, we are realizing the need to add more fields for different pieces of data we need to import to customer records and Flatfile allows us to do that quickly,” said Zabludovsky. “It’s been simple to set up and flexible enough to evolve as we add complexity. For example when we first implemented Flatfile, we only provided customers the ability to offer clients hourly service. Now we have service type columns for other models such as pricing based on the number of bedrooms and bathrooms.
“The ability to seamlessly adjust the types of data we import allows us to grow our business while still using the Flatfile tool,” said Zabludovsky. “Easily making adjustments to the platform enables us to provide important new functionality for our customers. As we grow and improve our product, and require different data sources, Flatfile can grow with us.”
“Flatfile’s data onboarding platform is a well built product that addresses what is often an under the radar, yet crucial problem of data onboarding,” said Zabludovsky. “I think it’s a category-defining product.”
